EXPOSANTE / HEALTHFORUM   comes back after a short break by the organizers in order to better apprehend the new guidelines currently on-going in Africa in terms of health policies and welfare of the populations, but also to better respond to the real needs of stakeholders mainly politicians and professionals from various organizations working in the sector.  
 

 I – THE OBJECTIVES OF EXPOSANTE /HEALTHFORUM 2009

EXPOSANTE 2009, in its new version, aims at contributing to public health policies, population welfare actions, training and corporate health education, on the one hand, by public authorities and on the other hand by specialized institutions and civil society committed to poverty control.

Therefore, the aim of EXPOSANTE 2009 is to bring together all the health stakeholders namely : decision makers, prescribing physicians, health practitioners , equipment and tools  manufacturers , dispensers of pharmaceutical and body products, etc. but also, to serve as a discussion and exchange forum.

In this regard, EXPOSANTE 2009 wants to be :

•  A framework for  :

  • presentation, information and promotion of products, equipment and services ;
  • dissemination of strategies developed within the framework of policies adopted in terms of populations’ health.

• A venue for  :

  • Meetings between professionals working in the area of health and social welfare whatever their speciality and the skills they can make available to the health service ;
  • Exchange and establishment of trade and scientific relationships

  II – CONTENTS OF EXPOSANTE 2009

EXPOSANTE 2009 has three components namely, the show, the professional meetings, the International Community Health Forum.

  1. The show component

it brings together all professionals working in the health service sectors, (equipment, pharmaceutical products), training, support and services, namely :

  1. Equipment and products  sector :

    equipment :

    • Medical and technical equipment;
    • Medical Imaging;
    • Equipment and orthopaedic appliances;
    • Equipment and dental appliances;
    • Equipment and ophthalmologic appliance ;
    • Equipment and hygiene products;
    • Equipment and laboratory analysis products;
    • Equipment and measuring  products ; 

    Products and services:

    • Pharmaceutical and drug products;
    • Dietetic and cosmetic products;

    Miscellaneous services :

    • Health  engineering  ;
    • Emergency medicine ;
    • Medical computing ;

  2. Training, support and services  sector  :
    • Training and medical research Institutions;
    • Multilateral and bilateral health development programmes ;
    • Non-governmental organizations for information, and social/medical education ;
    • Insurance institutions and social-health coverage systems;
    • Specialized press/ Editions, etc. ;
    • Miscellaneous services.

  2. The professional meetings’ component  

This component will include conferences and panels on various topics relating to health problems, policies and training, scientific communications on health, health institutions and programmes, etc.

In this regard, the following are also scheduled:

  • The creation and implementation of a free examination centre for diabetis and blood pressure which will be operational during all the duration of the health show.
  • presentations and  demonstrations of equipment  and products ;
  • bilateral meetings and exchanges between professionals, etc. ;
  • various other events (the schedule of which will be publicized among participants

  3.The International Community Health Forum

The fact is that that there is already a community health policy launched by the World Bank  and which is being implemented in almost all African countries, mainly in west and central Africa. The forum will provide an opportunity not to submit a final answer, but to exchange ideas reflect :

  • on the one hand, on measures and strategies to be implemented in order to consolidate the partnership by creating a synergy  aiming at sustaining all efforts and actions relating to health community ;
  • on the other hand, on strategies developed around community health centres  to deal with :
    • infant mortality ;
    • reduction of maternal mortality rate ;
    • the fight against STI – HIV /AIDS,  Malaria, Tuberculosis and other diseases ;
    • finally, the new prospects likely to emerge.

  EXPOSANTE’S PATRONAGE

EXPOSANTE 2009 is under the patronage of his Excellency President Abdoulaye WADE, Head of the Republic of Senegal and under the effective chairmanship of the Minister in charge of Health and medical Prevention.

  DATE AND VENUE OF THE FORUM

EXPOSANTE 2009 will take place from May 26 – 29,  2009 at CICES

  OPENING HOURS

This Show is opened to professionals from Tuesday to Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM. The wider public is welcome from 2PM to 6 PM.

  PRACTICAL ORGANIZATION

All the necessary provisions are taken to facilitate the participation of exhibitors and professional visitors to EXPOSANTE 2009.

  1 - How to participate

    • Professional meetings : open to all exhibitors and to anybody who is registered or invited
    • International Community Health Forum: open to all participants who are invited as specialist or registered on the basis of a letter of intent. Information can be obtained by getting in touch with organizers.

  2 - Transport of goods

A pooled transport of goods by air or by sea allowing for substantial reduction of charges will be proposed to exhibitors. However, those who wish to choose their own carrier can do so freely
