Satisfactory results obtained during the first TRANSLEQ 2004 edition the short time for the preparation, as well as the encouragements and recommendations from participants prove that that there is still the need to carry on this participatory action to development in the field of Transport in this Southern part of Africa.

n fact, taking into account the importance of transports in the economies of the African countries in particular, of their strategic interface and the need to upgrade and adapt them, it is necessary and justified to continue maintaining the promotion of this sector at all geographic levels, namely: continental, regional and sub-regional.

The organization of this important event in Dakar, the gateway to West Africa, gives enormous opportunities by enabling easy access for other neighboring countries (Mali, Mauritania, The Gambia, Bissau Guinea, Guinea Conakry).

 

OBJECTIVE OF THE SHOW

The objective of TRANSLEQ 2005 is:

  • to be a framework for professional meetings and setting up of partnership relations.
  • and to allow the African professionals of transport to:
    • acquire better equipment in order to better meet the huge needs of African countries as regards transport;
    • help decentralise the African regions by facilitating access to products and equipment;
    • contribute more effectively to the economical and social development of Africa: by reducing the transport costs, supporting the competitiveness of the African export products and by amplifying the creation of economic activities.
    • be informed on the innovations and new possibilities offered in terms of transport, equipment and services.
 
CONTENTS OF THE EXHIBITION

The exhibition comprises two sections: a exhibition section and a section for professional meetings.

  1. THE EXHIBITION SECTION:

It will gather the following sectors on spaces arranged and divided into stands:

  • EQUIPMENT, TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS;
  • TECHNOLOGIES AND SYSTEMS OF LOGISTICS INFORMATION;
  • TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS SERVICES;
  • IMPORT/EXPORT SOLUTIONS.
The EQUIPMENT TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS space will accommodate:
  • the handling and packaging equipment;
    • means of handling (pallets, rolls, transport packing);
    • handling and loading equipment, storage and shelvings, etc.
  • transport equipment:
    • containers, mobile cases, industrial vehicles, shell, combined equipment of vehicles and materials of transport, etc.

The CAR SHOW ROOM

Reserved to tourism and leisure, utilities and urban transport vehicles

The TECHNOLOGY AND LOGISTIC SYSTEMS OF INFORMATION

It will bring together the providers of:

  • Data processing solutions, software and networks;
  • automatic identification, tracking, bar codes;
  • computer data exchange (EDI);
  • Communication with the mobiles;
  • Advice;
  • Gobal Managements of Supply Chain;
  • Production management;
  • Distribution management;
  • Supply and stock management;
  • ERP (Enterprise resource planning).

The TRANSPORT SERVICES AND LOGISTICS AREA is reserved for:

  • Conveyors, forwarding agents, transport commissioners;
  • Professionals of industrial vehicles rental;
  • Ports and airports;
  • logistic and warehousing platforms;
  • Services related to the sector.

The IMPORT/EXPORT SOLUTIONS AREA where all the modes of transport will be found: maritime, air, road, as well as the specialized services, customs, insurance companies, etc.

VISITORS:

More than 20,000 qualified professionals and about 15,000 decision makers concerned with the management of transport, heads of transport companies, suppliers, insurers, advisors, industrial promoters from Africa and other continents (Europe, Asia, America) will attend this important get together.

2. THE PROFESSIONAL MEETINGS SECTION :

In addition to the area especially reserved for professional meetings which give exhibitors, visitors and other participants an opportunity to meet through appointments or in an informal manner to discuss, share ideas and so on, workshops, conferences and thematic days dealing with various subjects and of interest to various corporations are planned. These subjects will be selected and dealt with by specialists and experienced heads of companies selected for this purpose.

The TRANSLEQ is placed under the high patronage of Me Abdoulaye WADE, President of the Republic of Senegal, one of the chiefs of founding state of the NEPAD ( New Partnership for the Development of Africa) and coordinator of the shutter Infrastructures(road, railroads, harbors, airports), environment, NTIC and Energy.

The TRANSLEQ will be presided by :

The Minister of State, Minister of Maritime Economy,
The Minister of the Tourism and the Aerial Transportation
The Minister of the Infrastructures, the Equipment, the Terrestrial Transportation and the Interior Maritime Transportation

OPENING HOURS

The exhibition isopen to professionals all days from 10 am to 6 pm. The public is welcome from Wednesday to Friday between 2:30 pm and 6 pm.

 

PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS

All measures have been taken to facilitate participation to EXPOBAT 2005.

 

TRAVELLING AND ACCOMODATION

Many airline companies fly regularly to Dakar. Participants (exhibitors and professional visitors) will benefit from special tariffs. Moreover, a travel agency will propose to exhibitors options for travelling to Dakar and staying in hotels selected for their quality. A shuttle service will operate between some hotels and the exhibition hall.

 

TRANSPORT OF GOODS

In order to cut costs, an option of bulk sea or air freight is proposed to participants for the transportation of their goods. Goods will be accepted as temporary importation.

Exhibitors who wish to do so may freely choose their carrier.
